My name is Ashton Allen Dunn.

I’m a builder.

I launched Reddit’s KarmaLab creative strategy team and social media teams at Chiat/Day LA and David & Goliath. I created and co-hosted a weekly music program on New Orleans’ Jazz & Heritage station – WWOZ 90.7 FM.

2024-2025

Built the foundation for the creative strategy org as the first creative strategist hire for Lyft’s business and advertising media platform.

2023-2025

Weekly live on-air personality for my music show titled Adjacent.

2023-2024

Served up a gumbo of talent management, business affairs, and production for New Orleans based artists Cubs the Poet and Polo Silk Photography.

2021-2023

Head of team within Reddit’s KarmaLab responsible for production from live-action video to chatbots; and creative agency relationship development across 5 holding companies and independent agencies.

Cultivated an international ecosystem of four creative production suppliers to optimize and localize ~300 underperforming or first-time advertiser campaigns.

2018-2020

Led the auto vertical for KarmaLab and responsible for creative production as mentioned above.

Increased revenue on the Toyota account 6x YoY through quarterly creative inspiration sessions with Client and agency teams to ensure Reddit insights and ideas were top of mind.

Unlocked Honda as a first-time advertiser with a year-long esports strategy supporting brand integrations with Team Liquid and League of Legends through Q&As and competitions. AdAge wrote about one of my ideas – Honda Circuit – a racing game and leaderboard that enabled Redditors to compete for bragging rights to the fastest hotlap amongst the community and Team Liquid.

2017-2018

Pitched and produced the first Disney campaign on Reddit – The Wreck It Ralph Breaks the Internet Challenge. This nostalgic adventure much like the film’s plot resurfaced the origins of moments and memes that broke the internet; and let communities pick their favorite on Reddit of all time.

Built a joint partnership with NPR for a Toyota Avalon launch that included my idea to engage with listeners of the Reddit-inspired podcast, Endless Thread, by using shared conversation prompts on-air and on-platform.

2016-2017

Head of editorial unit for XQ: The Super School Project. Documented the stories of 10 learning communities across the US that were awarded $10MM each to innovate high school curriculum.

Same-day Snapchat Discover and Twitter Trends mentions for the XQ: The Super School Project big announcement day to galvanize students and politicos into rethinking high school on the two platforms they check first each day.

2015-2016

Led digital and social media strategy for the Toyota Prius, RAV4, Corolla and Camry; and Toyota’s music and philanthropy efforts.

Developed the strategy for the Toyota Prius in Super Bowl 50 that focused on owning 10-minutes on Twitter to source and feature live tweets in the Longest Chase TV ads; the tweets helped thread the story of two episodic, in-game spots.

Raised $750K for the Boys & Girls Club powered by #selflessie Instagram trend during the Toyotathon by using the most natural posting behaviors on Instagram – the selfie – as a mechanism to trigger a Toyota-backed donation.

2014-2015

Established social media practice which boosted capabilities and led to new business wins: LG Mobile USA, Vizio, and Zico.

2013-2014

2011-2013

Planned and executed social content for 5 Nissan communities. Launched and ultimately doubled the Nissan Motorsports Facebook community YoY with $0 in media by connecting the passions of Z fans for customization to a virtual build garage for the 370Z, known as Project 370Z (Top Gear liked it too).

2010-2011

Managed the paid plus organic growth and content for AFLAC, Party City, and Nature’s Own communities.
